Coastal Cultivations

She had the expertise. She had the product. She needed a brand that could keep up.

THE SITUATION

Coastal Cultivations is a mobile business doing something genuinely rare, selling Texas-farmed oysters and botanical goods side by side, founded by someone who knows both worlds deeply: a horticulturist and oyster industry expert who built her business on real craft and real expertise.

She was launching from scratch. And she knew something a lot of new business owners figure out too late: showing up without a brand is showing up without a signal. At markets, pop-ups, and wholesale conversations, your visuals speak before you do.

She wasn't looking for something generic. She needed a brand identity built to earn trust on day one, and grow with her for years to come.

THE REAL PROBLEM

Starting a business with professional branding isn't a luxury. It's a positioning decision.

For Coastal Cultivations, the stakes were specific:

  • She sells in person. Markets, pop-ups, and events are high-competition environments where a shopper makes a split-second decision about who to stop at. Brand presence is the difference between a passerby and a paying customer.

  • She sells two distinct things. Oysters and botanicals don't obviously belong together, the brand had to make that pairing feel intentional and cohesive, not confusing.

  • She's building toward retail. Whatever we built on day one had to flex: packaging, signage, merchandise, digital. A brand that only works on a business card isn't a brand, it's a logo.

THE APPROACH

We started with the story she was already telling, where salt meets soil, and built a visual identity that made that story undeniable.

The resulting brand system is rooted in the textures of the Texas coast: a modern coastal aesthetic anchored by a custom oyster-and-plant emblem, classic serif typography balanced with clean contemporary type, and a color palette drawn from the natural landscape she works in every day. Nothing arbitrary. Every choice earns its place.

A logo alone doesn't build a brand. Beyond the logo suite, we developed a full identity system: complementary marks, taglines, and collateral — tote designs, thank-you cards, and brand assets that work together to tell a consistent story across every touchpoint a customer encounters.

The goal was approachable sophistication. A brand that feels premium but never pretentious, one that earns loyalty from coastal foodies and plant lovers alike, without talking over either of them.

THE RESULT

Coastal Cultivations launched with a brand that positioned her as a serious business from day one…not a hobby, not a side project, not a work in progress.

The identity is flexible enough for a farmers market table and refined enough for a future retail shelf. It travels across packaging, signage, digital, and merchandise without losing coherence. It also gives her founder story, the horticulturist who farms oysters, the expert who built something entirely her own.
