Copano Oyster Co.
Their branding was ready. Their vision was clear. They just needed someone who would actually finish the job.
THE SITUATION
Copano Oyster Co. came to me with a brand already built and a story worth telling: A woman-owned sustainable oyster farm rooted in the historic waters of Copano Bay, Texas, producing premium oysters and restoring the Texas coastline while doing it.
What they didn't have was a website. A previous designer had started the build on a platform Copano couldn't manage on their own and walked away before it ever launched. After investing time and money, they were left with nothing to show: no live site, no digital presence, no way to point buyers, partners, or press anywhere.
They didn't need a rebrand. They needed someone to step in, take what existed, and actually get it done.
THE REAL PROBLEM
This is a situation more business owners find themselves in than anyone talks about. You hire someone, you trust the process, and somewhere along the way…the project stalls, the communication drops, and you're left holding a half-finished build you can't access or update yourself.
For Copano, the cost wasn't just wasted budget. Every month without a live website was a missed opportunity: wholesale buyers who Googled them and found nothing. Event attendees who wanted to follow up and couldn't. A brand with real credibility and zero digital proof of it.
The fix required two things: a platform they could own and maintain independently, and a launch they could actually feel proud of.
THE APPROACH
I rebuilt the site on Squarespace, a platform Lauren can update herself without needing to call a designer every time the menu changes or a new product launches. That independence matters. A website you can't manage is just a liability with a pretty face.
From there, I applied Copano's existing brand system to bring the site to life: their visual identity, their photography, their voice. My job was to take what their brand had already established and translate it into a digital experience that worked, one that guided buyers and wholesale partners through their story, their product, and their pitch.
Alongside the website, I designed a branded one-pager for events and networking, because showing up to an industry event without a leave-behind is like launching a site without a homepage. You're asking people to remember you on their own, and they won't.
THE RESULT
Copano Oyster Co. went from zero online presence to a live, polished, fully functional website, on a platform Lauren controls.
The one-pager gave them a physical touchpoint that matched the quality of the site: one cohesive brand across every room they walk into and every screen a buyer pulls up.
Most importantly: the work that had already been invested in their brand finally had somewhere to live.
