Silver Dollar Saloon

From outdated GoDaddy template to a brand people trust on sight.

THE SITUATION

The Silver Dollar Saloon has been a Leadville, Colorado institution since 1879, the kind of place people drive hours to visit. However, their website told a completely different story.

Outdated. Hard to navigate. Built on a five-year-old template that hadn't kept up with the business. Visitors were landing on the site and bouncing, not because the saloon wasn't worth it, but because the digital front door didn't match the experience inside.

When a business has that much history and that much heart, a generic website isn't just a missed opportunity. It's a credibility gap.

THE REAL PROBLEM

Most business owners think they need "a refresh." What they actually need is a site that works as hard as they do.

The Silver Dollar didn't just need new photos and an updated look. They needed:

  • A clear, intuitive experience that matched how real people use restaurant websites (menus, hours, catering, reservations..fast)

  • A brand presence that honored 147 years of history without feeling like a museum exhibit

  • Copy and design that turned casual browsers into confident visitors, and visitors into regulars

THE APPROACH

We started where every great website starts: with the customer, not the client.

Who's searching for the Silver Dollar? Tourists passing through Leadville. Locals planning a night out. Event planners looking for a venue with character. Each of them needs something different, and a strategic website delivers all of it without overwhelming anyone.

From there, we built a Wix website that balanced heritage and function: rich visual storytelling rooted in the saloon's history, streamlined navigation that gets people to what they need in seconds, and a design system that felt unmistakably Silver Dollar…not a generic template with swapped-in photos.

THE RESULT

A website that finally earns the trust this business has spent 147 years building.

Visitors land and immediately understand where they are, what's offered, and why it matters. The brand experience online now matches the one inside the door, and that alignment is what turns strangers into customers.
